There isn't enough time in the day, but here it is...
Purchased a few new antennas for VARA in Brentwood and Fort Smith. One showed up broken in half and the other is still coming. I do buy a lot from DX Engineering and they are usually good, as in take care of me, and sent a replacement antenna. That should be here in a few days. When those arrive, we'll be placing them up at both Brentwood and Fort Smith for improved VARA communications, as well as bringing DVLDEN back to NWA. Both antennas will be at the 120' level at prominent sites so they should work hugely better.
I am in the process of replacing the Brentwood VARA computer with one that is a little more robust. That will occur when I do the antenna work.
My GMRS repeaters all have streaming capabilities for remote monitoring. My audio page shows this audio.na0d.com The ham gear streams to Broadcastify.
As far as GMRS goes, we're going to try and hang a new GMRS antenna for my Fort repeater as soon as possible. Probably do this when I hang the new VARA antenna. This will improve GMRS coverage back close to normal for that area.
Flippin Frankenpeeter will remain at my house for awhile on a small pole setup (20') until I can get a tower up. I may find another site to set it at if I can secure one. Never know...
Still working on the arkradio.net GMRS site. That's going to be a project in and of its own for awhile...
More to come. Now it's just equipment, time and weather. And I'll be moving stuff around on this site too...becuase why not haha. Thanks and 73!!
